Genealogy There are a few theories on the origins of the surname Everett, the most likely however, is "that it is one of the many variations of the English name Everard, which came from a Germanic given name comprised of the elements ever = wild boar + hard = brave, strong, hardy."
The name may also be of Norman origin or as a variation of the name Eoforheard.
"It is belived that many of the early Everett families lived in East Harling, Norfolk, England.
They were landed gentry who lived in Norfolk, England and were mainly Quakers." The suggestion that Everett's are from Norfolk is some what backed up by the amount of Everett's still in Norfolk. An example of this is the large amount of soldiers in the First World War who were in the Norfolk and Sulfolk Regiments.
